History

From smithy to a source of innovative ideas

In 1958 Leonhard Unsinn founded a blacksmith’s shop. In addition to horseshoes, repair of agricultural machines and operating a petrol station, he also built the first agricultural trailers.

The company grew continuously until 1978; the workshop increased in size and new production halls were constructed, e.g. for the production of agricultural slurry barrels.

In 1991 the entire facilities of the company were destroyed by fire.

In 1992 Joseph Unsinn, the son of the founder took over the company and concentrated on vehicle construction along with the rebuilding. He extended the range of models and made UNSINN a competent address for special industry solutions.

In 1994 and in 1996 the company was awarded the Bavarian State Prize for the telescopic container trailer and the unload lift EL 100.

Production, quality and service are being continuously extended:

1997 – construction of new office facilities

1998 – new production location for box trailers

2003 – new construction of an exhibition hall

 2005 – new production hall

2008 – opening of “DER ANHÄNGERPARK” (The Trailer Park) in Pessenburgheim The park offers service, flair and more than 500 trailers to experience live.

 2010 – plant extension

2011 – “Bayerns Best 50” (Bavaria’s Best 50) award: Unsinn is one of the 50 best companies in Bavaria and even came through the economic crisis with modest growth.

2014 For the second time “Bayerns Best 50” (Bavaria’s Best 50) award
2016 – new production hall

Today the company produces 11,500 quality trailers annually for the domestic and export markets and is internationally recognised as a specialist in the area of custom manufacturing in the finest quality. Customers throughout the world are pleased to hitch up “a genuine UNSINN”!
